My primary market in Dahlonega, Georgia is one of the top Short Term Rental spots in Georgia. It is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, waterfalls and is home to 12 wine tasting rooms and 8 wineries. In addition, there are 12 wedding venues at last count. My list of investors are staying booked every weekend. This produces income way superior to a Long Term Rental. In 2025, Short Term Rental monthly income is forecast by Homestakes.com to be 3.5 times that of a Long Term Rental.

Many first time STR homeowners dedicate a portion of their current home to guest space and advertise just that portion. Other STR investors are buying second homes and advertising whole home rental for a week or weekend. If you advertise with an online booking service like Airbnb or VRBO, most of your headaches go away since they advertise, book online, collect payment, pay local taxes, provide cleaning contacts, coordinate cleaning schedules and make a net deposit straight to your bank account. If pricing your nightly rental amount is of concern, there are services that help with that also.
